New Members :

Ashley Carswell 95
Charles Henry 100
George A. Bruce 100
Arthur Bolton 90

The meeting was called to order by President George 0. Marshall. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Chief Justice George Doss announced the new members.

David Firor was recognized by the chair. He said that he was of the opinion that the Secretary had been partial in recording the minutes of Demosthenian insomuch that he quoted "Hell Bent" Edwards Jr. too much.
Wilbur Orr arose and said that he was confident that the minutes had been kept in a manner so as to record what actually happened.
President Marshall informed the society that the meeting was scheduled to adjourn early for the Demosthenian-Phi Kappa freshman debate.
Mr. Edwards was recognized by the chair. He said that it displeased him very much to see Demosthenian neglect its own official business in order to go over to Phi Kappa Hall. He then said that he would like to make a few simple statements to the society. He then made a very touching speech on patriotism, declaring that "in a time of national peril, we should not allow petty state politics to consume too large a portion of our time and efforts...."
Meeting adjourned on motion.

Respectfully Submitted,

Robert Joiner, Secretary
