| Minutes of the Demosthenian Society, March Third, 1995
This week, in celebration of March Third, I’ve decided to write
the minutes in the style of days gone by.
The Society held a regular meeting on March the third, presided
over by Glenn V Morrison, President, David Deriso, Vice President,
and Carl S Pyrdum III, Secretary. The Society heard three committee
reports, one from the Financial committe, one from the Judicial
Council, and one from the Alumni Relations committe. No old or unfinished
business was attended to. During new business the following resolutions
were debated.
Be it Resolved: The area known as Metro-Atlanta should no
longer be considered as part of the South.
Be it Further Resolved: The Secretary shall write a letter
to the mayor of Atlanta and to the Atlanta Journal and Constitution
informing them of this distinction.
Respectfully submitted,
William David Deriso.
The question was decided in the negative by a vote of seven to
ten.
Be it Resolved: It is better to burn out than fade away.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ralph Wright,
Jenine Minicozzi,
Nancy Harris.
The question was decided in the negative by a vote of five to seven.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:01PM.
I love days gone by. The Secretary’s job was much easier then.
Respectfully submitted this tenth day of March, 1995,
Carl S Pyrdum,
Secretary at Medium.
