The Demosthenian Classic
Extemporaneous Speaking

About this format:
Participants will randomly draw three questions relating to current events.

They will then be given thirty minutes to prepare a seven minute speech that answers one of the questions.

Contestants are strongly encouraged to bring tubs of evidence or laptops, although they may not use computers with internet access.

Speakers who violate the seven minute time limit will be penalized at the judge’s discretion.
